Clock is ticking...

I was sitting on the couch a little while ago and my countdown app decided to alert me to this:

ONLY TWO WEEKS LEFT. OH MY GOD.

When I first started that countdown, there were well over 100+ days...and now I'm under 14. This is CRAZY....which, in turn, is making me crazy. I have made 5 phone calls today, I am waiting for a few to call back, I have more to make tomorrow....AGH.

At least I have started with packing though. Little bits and pieces, but it's started! I even found some of the things I wanted to take with me that I thought I lost in the apartment, like my travel first aid kit, my travel tea pouch and my tic tac container with my bobbypins stored in it. Things are really shaping up well for the short time. I just hope I will have everything done!

Oh, and I won another inflatable pool ring, haha.

I figure I am keeping my doughnut ring, but I will bring the second tube I have won to the USA with me and do something with it there. Not sure what yet, but I will figure it out.

Let's see, what else have I done...

OH! Yesterday, Akira and I went with his boss Fredrik and his girlfriend Bodil to a lake to go swimming....however, my irrational fear of nature cause me to just sit on a blanket and watch them swim in the lake while I tried to keep the bugs away from me....I am a city girl to the core, haha.

I managed to get an inflatable travel pillow finally, and I plan to make a pillowcase for it, so when I reach the USA, or when I come back to Sweden, I can wash it and the pillow will be okay to reuse. I think I may go search for better buttons than what I have myself today, but if they are too expensive, I will use what I have. Now, I just need to figure out what blanket to take with me.

But now, time to get ready for yoga later :D

The Latest...

I have been slacking a little again, but I figured since I am currently procrastinating cleaning and waiting to go out a bit later, I could kill some time writing here.

I have decided that maybe I will make this blog primarily English, unless I absolutely MUST have posts in Swedish. It makes things easier for me, and the posts aren't crazy long.

I have been trying to get back into the freebie scene, but there isn't so much of a scene here in Sweden as there is in the US. I mean, back home, I used to be able to live off a lot of the things I got for free. That is not possible here in Sweden, sadly. However, I was watching a show over here called "Superspararna" - translated to "The Super Savers" - which is sort of like Extreme Cheapskates which is shown on TLC in the USA, and on the second episode, a woman named Petra was talking about how she gets things for free here in Sweden. Instantly, my obsession came back. So I have been googling my little heart out for new free things, as well as obsessively checking Petra's blog for new freebies she has found. As I get the items, I will post them on here, and as a matter of fact, I just got one of the free items :D

One of the gas stations here in Sweden called Statoil has a memory game you can play once a day all summer long and if you have a fast enough score, you can win one of their prizes of the day, which could be a free ice cream, soda, cinnamon bun, hot dog, coffee....etc. It's the first thing I do in the morning now, and yesterday I actually won!

I was actually so excited when I saw that I won! That said, I only wanted my prize if it was the donut, haha. So today, my boyfriend's sister Bodil took me to get my pool ring, and I got the donut! (Tack så hemskt mycket, Bodil!)

The ring is HEAVY though and a lot bigger than I thought, even though it did specifically say XL-pool tube, haha. That said, I have NO IDEA where I am going to use this thing. I don't have a pool haha. But it's a donut so I needed it :D

While we were at the gas station, I realized we didn't have food home so perhaps I should grab something to eat there for dinner....so I found this:

Triple Egg & Bacon Sandwich with Honey Mustard Dressing :3 Oh my good heavens, I need to make this for myself because it was SOOOOO good. Usually after I have dinner, I am hungry soon after, but I ate that sandwich 3 and a half hours ago, and I am STILL FULL :D

Otherwise, today is not too interesting. I am going out in a little while to a party and hopefully that will be fun :) Maybe I will have more to write about tomorrow...perhaps another prize from Statoil? ;D

I am a slacker D:

So, I have been slacking on making posts here. It's about time for a new post, and since it might be a long one, I am just going to stick to English this time :)

Well, at this point, we have under a month left until we go on vacation! I am so excited to see my family again after 3 and a half years. But I am as nervous as I am excited. I know that I have changed a lot in the past 3 and a half years and I just wonder if things back home will feel "wrong" to me somehow. I suppose we shall see!

I have been doing some freebie hunting online, and I have been quite lucky with stuff so far! :D When I get what I have ordered, I will make some posts about them :)

I have also been doing some sale shopping, since there have been a lot of sales here in Sweden lately. Here's some of the stuff I have acquired:

Camouflage bag (Only 30kr!), Black Currant-Acai Peel Off Face Mask (Not on sale, but 20kr is not bad and it was needed!), Nivea Pure Fresh Body Wash (Only 20kr and it smells like the beach!) and a red skirt (30kr...a steal!).

The highlighter green skirt is new :D I paid 50kr for this, and if I waited 2 weeks, it would have also been 30kr :( but still not bad. The red skirt I posted above looks the same on as this skirt, since they are the same skirt but different colors.

The shorts are mint green, but the picture doesn't show that off. Only 50kr! That was such a good deal! I bought the two sports bras today for 49kr a piece, and I plan to use them as bikini tops, since bikini tops in Sweden aren't really made for my chest size, and if they are, they are extremely expensive. But these work just fine! The bikini bottoms were only 20kr (!!!) and fit so perfectly that I just needed to buy them. Then I bought both iridescent makeup bags because I go through makeup bags like I go through underwear. I'm super excited to use them already.

These are basically what they say: Stick on flower gems. I'm going to be fixing something soon with these, so keep an eye out on my blog for that ;)

These two are quite possibly the best makeup items I have ever bought. Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin foundation and Isa Dora Color Correcting Concealer....my face has honestly never looked so flawless after using makeup before!

That's it as far as beauty and fashion shopping goes. However, I have found some new food things I have enjoyed:

This was actually not good. For those who don't know, Daim is a thin layer of almond brittle covered in chocolate. So, I expected Daim mint to be some sort of mint chocolate brittle with the chocolate on the outside....but nope! The almond brittle was still inside, but the outside was mint chocolate. It was not a happy mixture to me, and I would never eat this again.

This sparkling water is by far THE BEST flavor I have ever tried. It's supposed to be like a Mojito. It has lime, mint and tea flavoring and you get each flavor one by one and it just blends so beautifully. I only wish they would sell this in 1.5 liter bottles because I would buy a ton of them and stock up!

Other than that, not too much else exciting that has happened. I am still going to the gym multiple times a week. I'm still job hunting, but hopefully not for much longer. Weather is extremely hot and humid and I am dreading coming back to NY because I know it will be worse there.

Oh! I went and saw The Fault in Our Stars with my boyfriend's sister Bodil and her boyfriend Jesper. This is how I prepared:

Popcorn, Coca-cola and Kleenex tissues....and that was only package 1 of 5 that I took with me, knowing what a tearjerker it would be :p

But that's about it. I am going to try and make more posts on here, and hopefully my life will be a bit more interesting soon!
